weerbesu publishes the mod as an attachment on a single Patreon post. He has kept that one post updated since April 2019 rather than making a new one for each release, which is why the address has not changed in years and why the post's comment thread runs to thousands of replies. The post also links to his changelog site, where the releases going back to 2015 are listed.

This site does not host the file and does not link to copies of it. That is partly a legal point and partly a practical one. No licence, terms of use or redistribution statement exists on the Patreon post, the changelog site or the author's Mod The Sims profile, so nothing gives anyone permission to mirror the zip. And a mirror goes stale, which matters more here than it would for most mods: the author's own troubleshooting says a mismatch between your game version and your mod version is always the cause of broken interface panels.

Copies do circulate. They turn up on file-host sites, on mod aggregators, and on at least one second Patreon account that posted a copy of version 1.50. None of those are weerbesu's channels. If you want the longer version of that argument, read why you should only download from Patreon.

You want v1.59.1, released 27 August 2026. It is a small fix on top of v1.59 from the day before, which corrected a problem with pinning Wants. v1.59 is the build made for game version 1.127.41, and the author is blunt about what that means: it will not work on older versions of the game.

So the order matters. Patch The Sims 4 to the current version first, then install the current mod. Installing a new mod build on an old game is the single most common way to end up with missing menus and frozen panels.

To see what you already have installed, right-click the notebook icon next to the phone icon in Live mode, or open the cheat console and type ui_cheats.mod_versionCopy. If that number is behind v1.59.1, you are on an older build. The full list of releases with the game patch each one was built for is on the page for which version matches your game.

The download is one ordinary zip archive, UI_Cheats_Extension_v1.59.1.zip, of 14,902,899 bytes. Inside are two files, and both of them have to end up in your Mods folder for the mod to do anything.

The split is worth remembering because it gives you a free diagnosis. If a cheat dialog opens but typing a number into it does nothing at all, the package file loaded and the script file did not. That is the author's own rule, and it usually means the script file is buried too deep in subfolders or that Script Mods Allowed is off.

Those two file names come from third-party guides rather than from the author, whose post says only "the package file and the script file". Treat the names as a strong hint rather than as gospel: what matters is that you end up with one .package and one .ts4script.

Extract the archive before you copy anything. The Sims 4 does not read zip files, so a zip sitting in the Mods folder is the same as no mod at all.

Search for a UI Cheats download and Mod The Sims often comes up first. That listing is genuine, and the author links to it himself, but it is a different build for a different game: UI Cheats Extension v1.15.1 for Legacy Edition, a 3.93 MB zip aimed at 32-bit PC players and Mac players whose machines cannot run the Metal version.

It reports game version 1.58.63 and was last updated on 17 August 2022. That is four years of releases it does not have, including everything added to the Skills, Simology and business panels since. The page has been downloaded 3,158,516 times, which is a good part of why it ranks so well and why so many players install it by mistake.

One oddity worth knowing if you compare the pages: the listing calls the file v1.15.1 while quoting game version 1.58.63, which the changelog ties to v1.16. It is an inconsistency on that page rather than a sign of anything wrong with the file.

UI Cheats has been free for its whole life and still is. The Patreon post is a public post, and Patreon's own record for it says the amount you need to have pledged to view it is zero. The zip is attached to the post rather than sitting behind a tier.

weerbesu's Patreon had 86,551 members when we last checked, on 22 September 2026, and only a small fraction of them pay anything. Pledging supports the work; it does not buy access to it. If a page or a video tells you a pledge is required to get UI Cheats, that page is either out of date or lying to you.

On the post itself, the download is at the bottom. Scroll past the description, the feature list and the installation notes, and the attachment is underneath them.

weerbesu does not publish a checksum for the zip, so there is no hash to compare against. What you do have is a file name, an exact size, a known post address and two files inside. Five quick checks cover it.

The Patreon post carries one attachment, and it is always the current build. We have not found an official archive of older zips anywhere, which rules out most of what people mean by downgrading.

That is less of a problem than it sounds, because downgrading the mod is rarely the fix. The author's position is that broken panels, missing interface and frozen menus come from a version mismatch, and the way out of a mismatch is to bring both sides forward: update the game fully, then install the newest mod. Going backwards only works if you also hold the game back, and The Sims 4 does not make that easy.

If your game is deliberately on an older patch, be aware that the current mod build will not run on it. The old copies you can find elsewhere are exactly the reuploads worth avoiding, and you have no way to tell what has been changed inside them. If the mod stopped working after a patch, work through the fixes for UI Cheats when it stops working before you go looking for an old build.

Installation takes about two minutes: extract the zip, drop both files into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods, turn on Enable Custom Content and Mods together with Script Mods Allowed, then restart the game fully so the script setting takes effect.
